A city-based criminal lawyer on Tuesday said he was threatened and manhandled outside a court here by three alleged members of the Dawood Ibrahim gang for taking up a case against them.
Advocate Mubin Solkar appears for a man who had lodged a case of extortion and assault against the three - Mosheen Pathan, Majid Pathan and Sonu Pathan - outside the sessions court, which rejected the bail application of the trio.
This apparently angered the three who threatened Solkar outside the court premises and abused him.
Solkar later filed a case of intimidation and threat against the alleged Dawood gang members. The lawyer said a group of people also tried to assault him in the court premises.
"When I came out of the gate of the court, there was a group of around 20 persons standing there who surrounded me and started abusing me and tried to assault me," Solkar said. Policemen present in the court saved Solkar from the group.
